Along the winding road of my career, I was able to merge my creative skills and my Christian spirituality in the role of Catholic School Visual Arts Teacher for a few years at The Franciscan School in Raleigh, NC.
While I had been a Youth Ministry Core Team Leader for almost two decades and already enjoyed sharing the Good News with high school students, serving elementary- and middle-schoolers in the classroom was a joyful opportunity to educate, empower, and make a huge impact on the community.
Along with daily wins and individual successes for the kids, I was proud to be recognized for my work as a teacher, coach, art club & yearbook advisor, curriculum council member, youth minister, and pastoral council member, when I received the Fr. David J. McBriar Award for collaboration and teamwork across ministries.
